President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has launched a new platform designed to foster direct engagement between the Federal Government and entrepreneurs across Nigeria, as part of efforts to stimulate economic growth and attract foreign investment.
The initiative, known as the Renewed Hope Enterprise Bridge, is aimed at easing the burden on businesses while strengthening entrepreneurship development nationwide. Speaking at the launch, Minister of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, said the platform reflects the administration’s commitment to improving Nigeria’s investment climate.
Musawa noted that the government has been working to enhance infrastructure, investment frameworks, and policies to boost investor confidence. She identified the creative and digital economy sectors as key drivers of growth, stressing that they offer higher returns for entrepreneurs compared to many traditional industries.
“Creative and digital economy are the two sectors with the greatest potential to deliver significant returns for entrepreneurs,” she said.
In her opening remarks, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Entrepreneurship Development, Chalya Shagaya, said the President’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs remains unwavering.
According to her, the administration is focused on building an inclusive economy that supports job creators and innovators. She highlighted ongoing reforms aimed at easing regulatory compliance and expanding access to finance through institutions such as the Bank of Industry.
Shagaya emphasised that achieving Nigeria’s ambition of becoming a trillion-dollar economy would require placing entrepreneurs at the centre of policy discussions.
“This engagement is not a one-time event. It marks the beginning of a more open, responsive, and collaborative approach between government and entrepreneurs,” she said.
Speaking on the event’s theme, “Hustle Meets Policy,” Shagaya described entrepreneurship as a daily struggle marked by resilience and risk-taking. She noted that such realities have not always been adequately reflected in policymaking, adding that the new initiative seeks to bridge that gap.
She also acknowledged the support of Vice President Kashim Shettima, as well as the contributions of Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and Deputy Chief of Staff, Hassan Ibrahim Hadejia, in bringing the initiative to fruition.
