The Ogun state police have offered N2.5 million reward on the whereabouts of the perpetrators who allegedly set the state INEC headquarters office on fire last month.
The state police spokesman, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
The Guardian, on Thursday, November 10, reported that INEC’s Abeokuta South office was set ablaze by hoodlums, who sneaked into the premises in the dead of the night.
“Following the recent attack on the INEC office at Iyana Mortuary area of Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State, the Ogun State Police Command has placed a bounty of N2.5 million as a reward for anybody with useful information that can lead to the arrest of those behind the dastardly act,” Oyeyemi said.
Oyeyemi stated that the Ogun state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Departments of the Command to investigate the incident and bring the arsonists to justice.
He also noted that, according to the directive by the commissioner of police, the command has resolved to reward anybody with credible information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators, assuring them that the information will be treated with confidentiality.
