Hope of former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, to become the next Governor of Anambra state becomes brighter on Monday, as Justice Charles Okay of Awka High Court 2 reinstated him as the authentic candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the November 6, 2021 Governorship Election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had last week published the name of a member of the Federal House of Representatives, Chukwuma Michael Umeoji as the candidate of APGA in the Anambra State Governorship election.

The Commission which also excluded the names of the Governorship and Deputy Governorship candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) said the decision was sequel to the order of the court of the land.
INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Barrister Festus Okoye, said the decision to drop Soludo and others was based on obedience to court orders served on INEC in relation to the primaries of the political parties and other processes leading to the election.
Prompt News reports that prior to the primary elections, APGA had been locked in a leadership crisis with two factions claiming supremacy.
While the Victor Oye-led faction conducted the primaries that produced a former CBN boss (Soludo), the Jude Okeke faction conducted a parallel primary poll that declared Umeoji as the APGA’s candidate.
But the ruling of Justice Okay of Awka High Court 2 on Monday has reinstated Prof Soludo as APGA Guber Candidate.
