Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will win the 2023 general elections despite the crisis that has rocked the party. He has also asked voters to support PDP candidates.
He urged voters to support PDP candidates at a town hall meeting and the consultative forum conducted yesterday with party members in Oyo Federal Constituency.
The governor claimed that after the party’s internal disputes were settled, the PDP’s standing in the Federal Constituency improved.
After fulfilling more than 80% of his campaign pledges, he was confident that the PDP would win all elections in the zone.
After meeting with key players in Oyo, the governor declared that all rifts within the party in the district had been resolved, allowing the candidates to run as one united front.
The governor’s re-election campaign slogan, “Omituntun 2.0,” refers to his promise to improve the state’s administration if re-elected.
He urged every citizen and native of Oyo State to support the PDP in the next 2023 election.
The governor listed other initiatives carried out by his administration, such as the contemporary Akesan Market, the Gedu-Oroki-Sabo Road, the refurbishment of Primary Health Care Facilities, and the Light-up Oyo Project.
