Mrs Samiat Bada, Chairman, Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State has reaffirmed her commitment to translating President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda into reality at the grassroots level.
Bada gave the assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Lagos, following country’s 65th Independence Anniversary commemorated on Wednesday.
Calling Nigerians, especially youths to have strong faith in the country, Bada restated her determination to support education and ensure a conducive learning environment.
She said: “There is need for us to renew faith in the country and in ourselves.
“Nigeria stands tall not because it has no challenges but because it has never allowed those challenges to defeat it. That is the true spirit of Nigeria and of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA.”
Calling for the spirit of patriotism and national pride, Bada said that she celebrated with primary school pupils on Wednesday to commemorate Nigeria’s 65th Independence.
The chairman said that her administration was committed to continue cascading the President’s agenda across all communities in the council.
According to her, efforts will be made to ensure good roads to drive on, clean communities to live in, healthcare that saves lives, schools that give children a future, opportunities that empower youths, and support that protects women and the elderly.
“We are translating the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu into reality at the grassroots.
“The goal is to make Ikosi-Isheri a council where government is present and promises are kept,” she added.
She urged residents not to lose hope, explaining that every great nation had faced trials before triumph.
“Nigeria will rise, Lagos will shine, and Ikosi-Isheri will prosper,” Bada added.
She called on the youths to channel their energy into creativity rather than violence.
Bada also encouraged women to continue to contribute toward building of communities, while elders provide wisdom and guidance.
“We as citizens, must to be patriotic, united, and hopeful,” Bada said.
She expressed her commitment to making Ikosi-Isheri LCDA a model of grassroots transformation.
Bada affirmed her commitment to ensuring that future leaders of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA grew up with a strong sense of national pride and responsibility.
