President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a special salary scale for teachers.
He has also approved a review of number of years of service from 35 to 40.
That means teachers can stay up to 40 years in service.
This comes amidst events to mark World Teachers Day.
Buhari who was represented by the Minister of Education Adamu Adamu stated this in Abuja on Monday on the occasion of the 2020 World Teachers Day.
President Buhari instructed the Minisiter to facilitate the implementation of the new teachers salary scheme adding that the essence is to encourage the teachers in delivering better service.
