APC Chairman Visits Plateau Attack Victims, Donates N15m, Vows End to Killings

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on Saturday visited victims of the recent attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area, pledging an end to the spate of killings in Plateau State.

receiving treatment at the Jos University Teaching Hospital, describing the incident as “barbaric, painful and unacceptable.”
The APC chairman said his visit was not only to sympathise with the victims but also to reaffirm the commitment of the Federal Government under Bola Ahmed Tinubu to protect lives and property across the country.
“The time has come to move beyond routine condemnation and take deliberate, collective action to prevent a recurrence of such senseless violence,” he said.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, Yilwatda stressed that the continued loss of innocent lives poses a major threat to national development and stability.
He assured victims and their families that the Federal Government remains committed to restoring peace and strengthening security operations in Plateau and other parts of the country.
As part of efforts to support those affected, the APC chairman announced a donation of N15 million to assist victims of the attack and other vulnerable patients at the hospital. He said the funds would help ease the burden of medical expenses and provide relief to those facing trauma and hardship.
Yilwatda also extended condolences to families of those killed in the attack, praying for the repose of the deceased and strength for their loved ones.
He commended the management and medical personnel of the Jos University Teaching Hospital for their prompt response and professionalism in handling the victims.
During the visit, the APC chairman also paid a condolence call on the Ujah Anaguta, the paramount ruler of Jos North, over the attack on residents of Angwan Rukuba.
He warned against politicising or normalising the recurring violence in Plateau, urging stakeholders—including political leaders, traditional rulers, religious groups and civil society—to unite against forces threatening peace in the state.
“Plateau must not be allowed to descend into cycles of bloodshed and instability,” Yilwatda said, adding that coordinated action, improved intelligence gathering and deeper community engagement are critical to ending the violence.
He reaffirmed that the APC and the Federal Government are determined to ensure that such attacks do not recur, stressing that perpetrators must be brought to justice and lasting peace restored to the state.
