A support group for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, Progressives Network for Tinubu (PNT), says it will deliver 80 per cent of votes in the South-West for the 2027 presidential election.
Pastor Olumide Obadele, Director-General, PNT, made the promise on Monday in Akure during a news conference on the debut of the group.
Obadele said Ondo State gave Tinubu 67 per cent of the total votes cast in 2023, which translated to the highest in the entire South-West region.
“In 2027, we shall work with the leadership of the party and other sister support groups to retain our South-West ranking with nothing less than 80 per cent of total votes.
“Our group is a blend of old and new politicians, regular and unconventional, veterans and newbies.
“This, we believe, will make a winning combination and serve as an impetus to reach our goals and attain our target. Our vision is clear and we are not in competition with anyone or groups.
“Our conviction to support Tinubu stems from his ability to bring Nigeria to a turning point in just 27 months in the saddle of leadership.
“His audacity to remove fuel subsidy and courage to float the naira among several other major policy decisions are characteristics of a leader with a clear definition of where he is going and knowing the path that leads there,” he said.
The director-general who acknowledged the existence of other sister support groups in the state, however, said the modus operandi of PNT would be different.
“Our operations will embrace modern technologies as we believe that politics is evolving, we shall reach our target audience faster ‘on feet’.
“With the passage of time, our work will speak for us as we traverse the length and breath of Ondo State preaching only one gospel – the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“We shall occupy the media space and keep the political clime in Ondo State busy,” he said.
