The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Edward Kallon, has said $839 million (N301.04 billion) is needed to implement the Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) for 2020.
According to him, the intervention is to reach 5.9 million people with life-saving assistance in insurgency-affected states of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe.
The decade-long terrorism had destroyed 36,000 lives and property worth over $9 billion (N3.24 trillion).
In a statement yesterday in Maiduguri, Kallon submitted: “The three-year (2019-2021) humanitarian response strategy was developed and agreed jointly by the Federal Government and humanitarian partners.”
