Two members of the House of Representatives, Ephraim Nwuzi (PDP, Rivers) and David Abel (PDP, Taraba), defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday.
Notice of the defections was announced by the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila on the floor of the House during plenary.
The defections were contained in two separate letters addressed to the House.
While Nwuzi was present when the letters were read on the floor, Abel was not at the chambers.
Nwuzi is representing Etche/Emuma federal constituency of Rivers State while Abel is representing Gashaka/Kurmi/Sardauna federal constituency of Taraba State.
