Popular Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage is set to be honored with a doctorate following an announcement from Kent University.
The self acclaimed ’African Bad Gal’ will be awarded a honorary doctorate degree from the University of Kent on the 15th of July.
The singer who is currently on tour was named among the 10 individuals to receive the honour during the University of Kent‘s congregation ceremonies at Canterbury and Rochester cathedrals.
According to a statement from the institution, Tiwa Savage “will be made Doctor of Music in recognition of her inspirational and international career in music.”
Recall that the doctorate award on Tiwa Savage follows her time in the same institution where she studied Accounting before proceeding to study music at the Berklee College of Music.
Meanwhile, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Adamu Maina Waziri, has disagreed with the decision of the party to plead with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State over the choice of Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as vice-presidential candidate.
There has been crisis in the opposition party since former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Presidential Candidate of the party, named his running mate.
The Chairman of the PDP BoT, Walid Jibrin, had on Sunday, said the party would send a delegation which will include Atiku, Okowa, the National Working Committee and BoT members to reconcile with Wike.
