President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with Mr. Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor for Africa of U.S. President Donald J. Trump, in Paris on Thursday to discuss deepening economic and security ties between Nigeria, Africa, and the United States.
The high-level meeting focused on forging a strategic partnership grounded in mutual respect, prosperity, and regional stability. According to a State House statement issued by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the talks highlighted U.S. interest in expanding direct engagement with Nigeria, positioning the country as a cornerstone of America’s Africa policy.
Mr. Boulos conveyed President Trump’s commitment to working with the Tinubu administration to boost U.S. investment in Nigeria and across the continent. The partnership would prioritize key sectors including energy, infrastructure, trade, and job creation.
Discussions also addressed regional peace and security, with both sides aligning on the need for sustained support in conflict zones such as eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the wider Sahel region.
President Tinubu welcomed the collaboration and reaffirmed Nigeria’s readiness to build productive alliances with the U.S. “We are committed to partnerships based on transparency, opportunity, and mutual respect, with outcomes that elevate Africa’s global standing,” he said.
The visit underscores ongoing efforts to position Nigeria as a central player in Africa’s political and economic transformation, as well as a strategic ally in international diplomacy.
