The Cour D’Appel De Cotonou, in Benin Republic late Monday ordered the continued detention of self-styled leader of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.
The court, also, ordered his transfer from Brigade Criminelle detention centre to the Cotonou Civil Prison detention facility.
The court session, which lasted for more than eight hours on Monday, also granted Igboho access to medical care.
At the resumed hearing on Monday, scores of supporters and traditional rulers thronged the court premises.
He was driven in at about 7am, but his trial did not commenced until 5pm as the prosecution and his lawyers argued over the trial.

At the hearing, which eventually commenced at about 5pm, only Igboho’s lawyers and his wife, Ropo, were allowed into the courtroom.
Journalists and supporters who besieged the court premises were barred from the court room.
Nigerian authorities want Igboho repatriated.
Newsmen report that Igboho and his wife were arrested at the Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou around 8pm on July 19, 2021, while they tried to catch a flight to Germany through an Air France plane. But the court, last Thursday, ordered the release of his wife but returned Igboho to police cell.
Igboho was earlier declared wanted by the Department of State Services (DSS) in Nigeria for allegedly stockpiling arms, an allegation he denied.
The secret police on July 1, 2021, raided his home, killed two of his associates and arrested some.
