Suarez demands £12m payoff from Barcelona to join Juventus
Luis Suarez has agreed to join Juventus from Barcelona, but will only make the move if he can finalize his £12m payoff from the Catalans, Guillem Balague reports.
The 33-year-old striker looks set to line up alongside Cristiano Ronaldo next season rather than Lionel Messi.
However, Suarez is happy to be paid one season’s wages by Barca to get him off their books.
The Uruguayan does not have to leave Camp Nou and has one more year on his existing contract.
If Suarez plays 60 percent of the games next season, he would trigger another year extension, but it appears all parties are ready to move on.
He will join Juventus as either a free agent or for a small nominal transfer fee.
Suarez joined Liverpool for £74million six years ago.
