Senate, reps to hold valedictory sessions as 9th n’assembly comes to an end

The senate and house of representatives will, this week, hold valedictory sessions for the ninth assembly.

The senate and house of representatives led by Ahmad Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila, were inaugurated in June 2019 and will wind down this week.

In a notice to lawmakers, Yahaya Danzaria, clerk of the lower legislative chamber, said the green chamber will hold its valedictory session on Wednesday.

Danzaria said the event will commence at 10am in the green chamber of the house of representatives.

He said the programme of the event will include the delivery of a speech by Gbajabiamila, goodwill messages by the principal officers, and the presentation of certificates of membership to lawmakers.

Danzaria said the event will have in attendance former presiding officers and clerks of the green chamber.

The 10th house is expected to be inaugurated on June 13.
