Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has strongly disowned one of his campaigners who went on national television to denounce President Muhammadu Buhari’s recurring medical vacations in the United Kingdom.
Olugbenga Olaoye, supposedly co-convener of Osinbajo Think Tank had speaking on Arise Television on Tuesday said: “We cannot afford another sick President who will be traveling to London all the time as we current have, we need someone who is mentally sound. The little time that Osinbajo spent to lead FEC was different. Things were moving”
According to him when the VP handled the country, things moved indicative of the kind of leadership he could bring to the country.
However, rebuffing him on Wednesday, Laolu Akande described him as a Fifth Columnist saying that nobody in the VP’s office or campaign knows him.
He said: Indeed this gentleman does not represent the VP nor the Office. His views are completely & totally his own. This particular opinion he has expressed on TV is deplorable and in bad taste. I am not even aware of the so-called Osinbajo Think Tank he purports to represent. Pls IGNORE
Another staff of the Vice President, Ife Adebayo also tweeting said: NOBODY on the VP’s team knows this Fellow. He DOES NOT speak for the VP or any part of his campaign for President. 5th columnists like him will come on TV sent by the opposition to try & malign the VP’s relationship with Mr President and Asiwaju. Noone should pay them any heed.
