Nigeria Immigration opens job portal, specifies requirements

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) opened the recruitment portal for the year 2023 on Monday.

The procedure was officially kicked off by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).

As there were openings in the service, they were looking to fill them with suitable full-time personnel.

The positions available are as follows: Superintendent of Immigration (SI) (CONPASS 11) (Medical Doctors), Deputy Superintendent of Immigration (DSI) (CONPASS 10) (Pharmacists), and Assistant Superintendent of Immigration II (ASI II) (CONPASS 08).

Additional positions include Assistant Inspector of Immigration (All), General Duty (CONPASS 06), and Inspector of Immigration (II) (CONPASS 07) (Nursing).

Additionally, there are Immigration Assistant III (IA III) (CONPASS 03), General Duty and Immigration Assistant III (IA III) (CONPASS 03) Artisans (Motor Driver, Mechanic) positions.

The application process will begin on January 16 at https://cdcfib.career and will need candidates to fill up and submit an online form.

Applicants that submit more than one application will be disqualified immediately. The submission deadline is January 30.

To apply, prospective students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a naturalised citizen of Nigeria.
  • Possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
  • Have the necessary qualifications and certifications.
  • Present proof of good health from a facility approved by the government.

Applicants will be subject to a drug test and must be of high moral character with no criminal records.

Male applicants must be at least 1.65 metres tall, and female applicants must be at least 1.60 metres tall; applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 30; the maximum age limit for medical professionals and pharmacists is 35.

Applicants with a chest measurement of less than 0.87 will be disqualified; applicants with a demonstrated ability to use computers will be given preference; applicants with credentials that were not disclosed and accepted during paperwork will not be considered after employment.

The time and date of the computer-based test (CBT) for the chosen candidates will be announced later.
