Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos has re-affirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting indigenous companies by fostering a business-friendly environment.
Sanwo-Olu gave the assurance during the 15th Anniversary and Office Launch of Greenpeg Nig. Ltd. held in Ikeja on Thursday.
The governor was represented by his Deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Greenpeg Nig. Ltd. specialises in procuring essential and hard-to-find industrial components, providing maintenance services, and constructing bespoke systems for industrial applications.
Sanwo-Olu said that his administration would implement policies to facilitate ease of doing business, enhance infrastructure development and promote a diverse and resilient economy.
“Lagos State is the epicenter of Nigeria’s commerce and a hub for business and innovation.
“We are committed to supporting companies like Greenpeg Nig. Ltd. by fostering a business-friendly environment,” he said.
The governor praised the company for its contributions to the development of the state and Nigeria as a whole, particularly in job creation, nurturing local talents, and professionalism.
Sanwo-Olu said that Greenpeg’s commitment to training and empowering young engineers aligned with his administration’s T.H.E.ME.S Plus Agenda, particularly in education and technology, and making Lagos a 21st Century economy.
He charged the staff of company to maintain high standards.
“Your dedication and professionalism have been instrumental to the success of the company, and as it continues to expand, I urge you to persist in your excellent work.”
In his address, Mr Bolaji Adekunle, the Chief Executive Officer, Greenpeg Nig. Ltd., said that the company was committed to investing in Nigeria.
Adekunle said that the company was also committed to supporting the growth and development of businesses in Lagos State and Nigeria at large.
He highlighted the company’s long-term vision, citing its potential for economic growth and development.
“By investing in the country, we aim to contribute to job creation, stimulate innovation, and promote sustainable economic development,” he said.
