Former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has regretted the early exit of former Governor of Niger state Engr. Abdulkadir A. Kure saying he left the country before the ovation is loudest.
Dr. Jonathan who was donned in cream coloured ‘Babariga’ visited the residence of the late Kure at about 11:40am in a black Land Rover Sport, Abuja KWL 86 CN.
The former President while extolling the virtues of Engr. Kure said “it is a very sad moment for us. There are burials and there are burials, there are deaths and there are deaths. One day all of us that are mortal being will surely leave the earth.
“He left us at a very young age and at a time the ovation is about to be loudest. Within a short life span, he has impacted the society significantly.”
He added that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will miss him greatly saying that “for us in PDP, he is one of the pillars of the party and also a member of our Board of Trustees (BoT) that is why almost all our members in the country were around during the burial.”
He further prayed the Almighty God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Amongst those in his train, are former bauchi Governor and Minister of the FCT Alh. Bala Mohammed, former Minister of Special Duties Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode, former leader House of Representatives Mulikat Akande, former BoD, FERMA Engr. Ezekiel Olajide Adeniji, former Minister of State Finance, Bashir Yuguda.
He also visited the palace of the Emir of Minna, Alhaji Farouk Bahago to pay homage.
