Imo deputy speaker resigns, joins APC

The Deputy Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Okey Onyekanma, on Tuesday resigned his position.

Onyekanma equally resigned as the Chairman, House Committee on Rules and Business.

The minority leader of the assembly Ekene Nnodimele also resigned his position.

Nnodimele’s letter of resignation was read by the speaker of the house during plenary on Tuesday.

He equally announced his defection from the All Progressives Grand Alliance to the All progressives Congress (APC).

The deputy speaker’s letter of resignation and defection was read by the speaker, Collins Chiji, at the ongoing plenary.
