Human capital development only achievable with technology – Oriade
The importance of technology in achieving human capital development cannot be underestimated as technology is the only panacea to drive growth and enhance productive outcomes.

Mr. Adewole Oriade says that technology driven learning offers huge potentials to not only enhance capabilities but also the growth of the ICT industry in Nigeria.
According to Oriade, with the introduction of computers, the business world was changed forever. Using computers and software, businesses use information technology to ensure that organizations run smoothly. Information technology is used across several critical units to ensure seamless work flow. The accelerated growth in the global market also enables businesses to rise up to the challenge of embracing information technology.
Oriade asserted that the importance of information technology has been visible in the conduct of businesses. Information technology according to him, is used across several critical units to ensure seamless work flow. The accelerated growth in the global market also enables businesses to rise up to the challenge of embracing information technology.
Oriade stated that human capacity development should be given its major focus with technology as a major catalyst of growth.
In his words” The mainstay of powerful nations across the globe is technology. Much of the transformations and giant strides in development of such nation are by-product of their technological inclination. Talk of nations like Japan, South Korea etc with marginal or practically non existence natural resources to depend on, but have turned around their fortunes through technology. “

Oriade added that The dream to take Nigeria to greater heights in technology is only achievable with the removal of bottlenecks. He further stated that government needs to ensure the drive for ICT development is given a solid focus with good policies in place. This has become imperative for the government to support the private sector involvement
He added that There is no begging the fact that the attention Nigeria is receiving for its incursion into technology arose out of the dexterity of private sector and some individuals that are committed to launching Nigeria into the league of technologically driven nationsOriade expressed dismay at the trend of cutting down human capacity development budgets in organizations.
According to him, rather than cut budgets, corporate organizations should embrace e-learning.e-learning can be platforms to provide eefctive training for employees as it is qualitative and affordable. It is indeed a solution to reduce training fee for corporate organizations.
. Mr. Oriade believes that a nation can only rise in proportion to available skilled and technological sound minds she has. Yet this asset must have been exposed to good training which should be without hindrances and encumbrances. Training and skill should be both soft and technical, but without easy access and flexibility in its operation, the needed base for technological advancement of any nation would have been knocked out, Mr. Oriade opines.
