The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday assured Nigerians that no trick by politicians to buy votes in the upcoming general elections would work.
Speaking in Ado-Ekiti at a Zonal Pre-election sensitization forum, INEC National Commissioner in charge of Information and Publicity, Festus Okoye said the Commission was even aware of the new tricks being devices by politicians to buy votes, but added that it would be a futile effort on their part.
Okoye, who was represented by Ekiti State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Abdulganiyu Olayinka Raji, warned that the Commission “will work with the security agencies to deal with the violators of our electoral laws”.
