The nefarious and fraudulent activities of Hackers continue to denigrate the image of Nigeria globally.
It appears to be on the increase and unabated. I was recently violated by a Nigerian hackster. The vermin placed a call from a Nigerian number: 0806334522 to my US number and pretended to be a representative of my University class of 88.
This fraudster stated there was going to be a meeting and was going to send the meeting code to my phone. He used this opportunity to gain access to my Facebook and WhatsApp accounts.
Presently, he has gained unlimited access to my social media accounts and making monetary solicitations for a sick girl that is terminally ill.
Please, kindly avoid solicitation from my Facebook account: MOSES OLANREWAJU GBADEBO.
He has also been attempting to swindle and lure people into a spurious get rich quick money scheme.
Also, two known pastors have fallen victim to these hackers. One of the hackers used phone number: 07045685239. The pastor was hacked on the premise that there was going to be a church meeting and he (hacker) will be sending a code to him.
Another friend of mine was also hacked from a Nigerian Phone number: 09135995548.
He lied that there was going to be a meeting and will be sending a code to him.
I have reported the matter to MTN and it appears there is some foot dragging to take punitive action against the fraudulent person using their phone platform to swindle people.
The customer service representative simply stated: “report this to Facebook and law enforcement agencies”.
I will be working tirelessly with law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and associates towards helping to bring the incident of hackers in Nigeria to the barest minimum.
The image of Nigeria has suffered greatly from fraudsters and their enablers, we can do better than this.
