FG prioritises health for all, with dedicated emphasis on elderly – Minister

The Federal Government places high priority to the health and well-being of all Nigerians, with dedicated emphasis on the elderly and vulnerable population.

The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Development, Prof. Mohammad Pate, said this on his
official X page on Wednesday, underscoring the significance of promoting health and wellness across
all segments of the population, especially the elderly and vulnerable.

The minister highlighted government’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda and to inclusive society
where the elderly can lead dignified and healthy lives.

He pointed out that the Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative and the Compact signed with states and partners is to expand the mandatory health insurance scheme for the poor and vulnerable populations.

While emphasising the need for collaboration and partnerships, Pate commended the Director General/CEO and the team of the National Senior Citizens Centre “for commendable initiatives to address the needs of senior citizens.”
