Nigeria’s D’Tigers dropped 18 spots in the latest rankings released by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
The country’s men basketball team are now ranked in 37th position.
D’Tigers occupy fifth position in Africa following their slump in the ranking.
The drop was connected to the team’s poor showing in the 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers in Lagos.
South Sudan is the number one ranked country in Africa followed by Ivory Coast, Angola and Tunisia.
Completing the top 10 teams on the continent are, Egypt, Cape Verde, Senegal, Cameroon and Democratic Republic of Congo.
