President Muhammadu Buhari says the death of the late Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki, is a national loss.

Buhari stated this in his condolence message to the Sultanate Council of Sokoto, the people and Government of Sokoto State.

Buhari, represented by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abba Kyari, led seven ministers on a condolence visit to the Sultan of Sokoto Sa’ad Abubakar III on Tuesday in Sokoto.

” We are here to condole with you on behalf of the President who is in Morocco on an official assignment.

” It is a big loss to the people and Government of Sokoto State and the Muslim ummah.”

Responding, Abubakar commended Buhari for the gesture, saying that the late sultan lived a life worthy of emulation.

” He was a father to all of us and death is inevitable to all mortals.”
