Centre-back Leon Balogun scored his maiden Super Eagles goal, while in-form striker Victor Osimhen added another as Nigeria comfortably sealed a 2-0 win over the Central African Republic, at the Japoma stadium in Douala, Cameroon.
The victory comes on the heels of the Super Eagles shock last-minute defeat to CAR at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Thursday, October 7th.
The victory sees the Super Eagles maintain a firm grip on top spot in Group C with 9 points, which Cape Verde and Liberia with a game in hand.

Rangers defender Leon Balogun who had a shaky game in Lagos redeemed himself, opening the scoring in the 29th minute with a composed striker’s finish to put Nigeria 1-0.
Rave of the moment, Victor Osimhen made it 2-0 in the extra minute of the first half to double the lead.
Osimhen could have doubled his tally in the 57th minute, a fine through-ball from Aribo found the Napoli striker, who rounded the goalkeeper, but his effort at goal was cleared on the line by a CAR defender.
Substitute Chidera Ejuke also came close in the 92nd minute, weaving through tackles, the CSKA Moscow winger fired his shot at goal, but his effort was blocked.
