APC loses Buhari’s Katsina to PDP by over 6000 votes
Abubakar Atiku, the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has defeated Bola Tinubu, his All Progressives Congress, APC, counterpart in Katsina, the home state of President Muhammadu Buhari in the presidential election conducted on Saturday.
Atiku defeated Tinubu by a slight margin of just over 6000 votes in the result announced by Muazu Abubakar, the Returning Officer for the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Katsina.
The former vice president garnered a total vote of 489,045 to beat the former governor of Lagos State who scored 482, 283 in the presidential election.

Thus, Atiku who won in only 13 local governments defeated Tinubu by 6,762.
This was despite the fact that the former Lagos governor won 21 local governments.
Rabiu Kwankwaso of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) came third in the election with 69,386 votes.
