Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is currently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of misappropriating state funds.
EFCC operatives are reportedly interrogating the former governor as part of an ongoing investigation.
While some reports suggest that Bello was arrested, others claim that Kogi’s current governor, Usman Ododo, brought him to Abuja this morning and invited the EFCC to take him into custody. There are also accounts indicating that Bello arrived at the EFCC office with his lawyers.
This comes after the EFCC requested an adjournment during the last hearing on November 14, seeking more time to continue its investigation. The anti-graft agency noted that the 30-day window for the summons issued to Bello was still in effect, with the next court date scheduled for November 27.
