Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been placed in Pot 1 for the draw of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, newsmen report.
The draw ceremony for the 35th edition of the AFCON will take place at the Mohamed V National Theatre in Rabat, Morocco on Monday evening.
The Super Eagles earned a spot among the top ranked teams for the draw by virtue of their position at the last edition of the AFCON and position in the monthly FIFA ranking.
Nigeria finished second at AFCON 2023 and currently occupies sixth position in the FIFA ranking.
Also in Pot 1 are, Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria and defending champions Cote d’Ivoire.
Super Eagles head coach, Éric Chelle will attend the draw alongside top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
Morocco will host the AFCON 2025 finals from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
