Carlos Queiroz, the head coach of the Egypt national team, has claimed the Confederation of African Football (CAF) does not respect them.
The Portuguese was speaking after the Pharaohs beat hosts Cameroon 3-1 on penalties to qualify for the final of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations on Thursday.
Queiroz was sent off during the second half of the match for dissent by referee Bakary Gassama.
After the game, Queiroz bemoaned the overall treatment of his squad from officials and organisers throughout the tournament.
He said: “CAF doesn’t respect Egypt, from the timings to the quality of the pitches – we had the worst pitches! We are Egypt!
“How can this referee, after what he has done in the past, be in the African Cup of Nations? Who understands this? Nobody!”
