No fewer than 3,369 young women entrepreneurs across Africa are to receive a grant of $5,000 each from the Tony Elumelu Foundation by the end of this year.
The grants, which are being made possible by a Trustee of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, Dr. Awele Vivien Elumelu, are non-returnable seed capital as part of the 2021 Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme.

Chairman of the Foundation himself, Tony Elumelu, who made this known through his Instagram handle, described his wife, Dr. Awele Elumelu as a silent supporter of women.
He said: “The $16.8 million non-refundable grant to young African women and makes up to 68 percent of the total candidates selected this year.
“This year alone, the Tony Elumelu Foundation disbursement is $24.75 million to 5,000 African SMEs for #TET2021 Programme.”
